Doris Meetings

From now on Blacksmith Doris will be held at the barn on a monthly basis thanks to the committee of the Australian Blacksmiths Association (Victoria) who have granted Doris extra days.  

The new timetable for 2014 Doris Days are as follows:

The work of Corinne Lomon

This is the work of Corinne Lomon who has been a member of Blacksmith Doris for around a year but has been a practicing blacksmith and jeweller for a lot longer.  

These pieces were a part of a shared exhibition held at the Bulleen Art and Garden.  New Directions ran between 26 October and 25 November, 2012.  

I wish that I had added this while the show was on, though I know that we will see more from Corri.

Her work is meticulous and has a delicate Gothic feel.

Hi to all

Blacksmith Doris wishes everyone a very fruitful New Year.

This Saturday, which is the 5th, there is a Doris Day at the Hackett household and all are welcome.  We will be working between 10 am and 4 pm.

Don't forget to wear safe clothing - natural fibre like wool or cotton etc.  Wear sturdy footwear.  It is recommended that you bring protective eye wear and ear muffs.  Please bring a hammer if you can, ideas or material if you have them; $4 for coke and a donation to Doris.  Oh, and something for lunch for yourself or to share. 

If there are days of total fire ban on a Hackett Doris Day, then we will need to cancel but it seems that this weekend will be fine.
